Carla Rinaldi is President of Reggio Children and Professor at the Modena-Reggio University Faculty of Education. Ms. Rinaldi has been appointed as a consultant in various commissions of the Italian Ministry of Education. After she graduated from the University of Bologna with a degree in Philosophy and Pedagogy in 1971, Ms. Rinaldi worked as a pedagogista with the Municipal Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools of Reggio Emilia and subsequently as pedagogical director and director of the Municipal Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools, from which she retired in 1999. Ms. Rinaldi has served as a pedagogical/scientific consultant for Reggio Children since 1994, following the supervision of all Reggio Children initiatives. She was responsible for research projects carried out in conjunction with Harvard University, the University of New Hampshire and the University of Milan. Recently, Ms. Rinaldi is particularly involved in ongoing professional development initiatives and research projects with the Northern European Countries. Ms. Rinaldi has served as vice-president of the Gruppo Nazionale Nidi-Infanzia (National Early Childhood Association) and as a member of the Reggio Emilia Town Council. She has been a speaker at numerous seminars and conferences in Italy as well as in Europe, the United States, Australia and Asia. Ms. Rinaldi has co-authored various books on the Reggio Emilia municipal infant-toddler centers and preschools, such as “The Hundred Languages of Children” catalogue, “The Fountains”, the “Children, Spaces and Relations” Metaproject for an environment for young children”, “The diary of Laura” and many others. She has coordinated the publication of the book "Making Learning Visible" published by Reggio Children and Harvard University Project Zero and is the author of “In dialogue with Reggio Emilia” as well as a number of articles published both in Italy and abroad in books and education magazines.
