Camilo Cristancho Mantilla

Camilo Cristancho Mantilla is a last year Ph.D student in political science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His research focuses on the dynamics of protest mobilization and Internet use. He is part of the Eurocores collaborative research project “Caught in the Act of Protest: Contextualizing Contestation” where he studies the use of online networks and attitudes toward political adversaries with protest survey data from over 50 demonstrations in 9 European countries. With his supervisor, Professor Eva Anduiza, he has also undertaken some research on demonstrators in Spain in a comparative perspective. Camilo is a member of the ECPR standing group on Internet & Politics and part of the Internet and Political Participation in Spain - Polnet research group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2007. As part of these groups, he has been involved in research in online politics and digital media effects in an electoral context.
