Tonight LPD Opens Le Murate

Tonight, La Pietra Dialogues’ 2011 Revolutions: Democracy Rising in the Middle East? round table will open the new Le Murate space in the center of Florence. Le Murate was a 14th century monastery that served, between 1883 and 1985, as the central prison for the City of Florence. Architect Renzo Piano oversaw the requalification of Le Murate beginning in 1998. The City of Florence aims for it to become a flexible space that favors the exchange between Florence and the rest of the world. Read More…
