NYU Florence Executive Director Ellyn Toscano is receiving an award from the Tuscan American Association for her “contributions to strengthening the relationship between Tuscany and the United States” tonight at Palazzo Vecchio at 5:30pm. In its announcement of the award, the committee cited Ellyn´s contributions to enriching the vibrancy of Tuscany´s cultural life and relationships between institutions in Tuscany´s wider learning community through La Pietra Dialogues and the summer festival of the arts The Season, which she founded after arriving at NYU Florence in 2004. The commitee also commended Ellyn for encouraging and facilitating the study of the Acton Collection, one of the most important cultural patrimonies of Tuscany, housed in NYU Florence´s Villa la Pietra. Congratulations Ellyn!
